Bloomfield Garden Party & Afternoon Tea

On July 5th, 2025, a bunch of lolita friends and I decided to drive about 45 minutes east to Bloomfield Gardens for their afternoon tea and garden party! We saw it posted on Instagram and grabbed tickets for their 11 am seating.

We were a bit late and there was some issues with seating (we called in advance to make sure we could sit together but somehow we were split apart into like 3 tables...and they refused to seat more than 4 at a table because of some excuse that the trays wouldn't fit, when I swear they're wedding banquet tables for parties of at least 8, they are a popular wedding venue too - anyway the owner personally apologized and said we would get free admission to the garden party next year [we paid $10 and it went to charity] but the tea was separate). I did see one long table that had 6 people so not sure what happened there and why it was missed...

Anyway we quickly ate since there was a time limit and we already came late (parking was free but we had to follow directions and then walking back down to the venue from the parking lot was dirt road and gravel so RIP to those wearing heels *cough*me*cough*). Food was mediocre with tea bags but was decent for $25 per person. Honestly the part where the money went to was the venue itself. We were free to explore the garden and it was indeed massive. There were so many cute photo spots so I guess that made up for the seating blunder.

There was also live music and a drink stand with free lemonade, iced tea and water, which was super helpful that day because it was so hot! We had a lot of fun taking photos and frolicking in the garden. It definitely felt so magical and so many people complimented us on our dresses. But nearly everyone there was dressed really nicely for the tea, and they really played up the Bridgerton theme with background music and pamphlets.

After exploring the gardens we went to mingle in the garden party (drinks were extra but they were $5 which was very reasonable) and afterwards used the washroom (which didn't flush properly and we could smell the sewage from the entrance to the tent where the garden party was) before making our way back home.

Overall some hiccups but we had a lovely summer afternoon frolicking in the gardens wearing lolita!
